Protection Score
A 0–100 rating that promises to show how complete your insurance picture is. PolicyWallet no longer calculates one — it states the specific findings instead, and what has not been checked yet.
Also known as: Coverage score
PolicyWallet no longer calculates a protection score. We removed it in August 2026, and the reason is worth stating: a 0–100 number could not distinguish "we found no problem" from "we could not look". A portfolio that had never been analysed scored the same as one that had been checked and was fine.
In its place the app states the facts themselves: how many policies you hold, how many are expiring, how many have not been analysed yet, and which specific gaps were found — each pointing back to your own document. None of those can be wrong in the way a score could be.
The term stays here because you will meet it elsewhere. If you see a protection score in another service, it is worth asking what it measures: the breadth of the cover you hold, or whether that cover is enough for your needs. Those are not the same thing, and only the first can be computed from documents.
PolicyWallet no longer shows a score. Your home screen shows the facts themselves — how many policies you hold, how many are expiring, how many have not been analysed — and every finding with its source. None of it is personalised advice; for that, speak to your insurance intermediary.

How was the Protection Score calculated?
It compared the branches expected for your profile against the ones you held, weighted: Health 25, Life and income 25, Property and motor 20, Income protection 15, Liability 10, other 5. That calculation no longer runs — the counted facts replaced it.
Did a high score mean I was adequately insured?
No. The score showed how complete your coverage picture was, not whether the sums and limits were enough for your situation. Two people with the same score could have very different real protection.
Was the Protection Score insurance advice?
No. It was an informational indicator derived from the documents you uploaded. PolicyWallet sells no insurance and takes no commission. For a personalised recommendation, speak to a licensed insurance intermediary.
