Legal expenses insurance

“I have legal cover.” But do you know for what?

Legal expenses insurance pays for lawyers, court costs and expert witnesses — but only for the dispute categories written in your policy. See yours, not the hypothetical ones.

Free for 3 policies. No card. Delete everything whenever you want.

The most misunderstood line of insurance in the Greek market.

It does not cover “whatever legal issue comes up”. Every plan defines dispute categories, waiting periods and cost limits. This is what the picture usually looks like:

Typically covered

  • Traffic disputes

Claiming compensation after an accident, defense in criminal prosecutions over traffic offenses, and appeals against fines.

  • Employment disputes

Disputes with your employer over wages, severance or contract terms — for employees the plan covers.

  • Consumer disputes

Disagreements with suppliers over defective products or services not delivered as agreed.

Common exclusions

  • Disputes that began before the policy

Cover applies to future disputes. Anything already underway before the start date — or during the waiting period — usually stays out.

  • Family and inheritance law

Divorce, custody and inheritance disputes are often excluded, or covered only as legal advice rather than court representation.

  • Amounts below the minimum threshold

Many plans set a minimum dispute value and a per-case cost cap. The fine print here decides everything.

Send us your policy. You will see two clear columns: what is covered and what is not. With the limits, the waiting periods and the minimum amounts, in plain words.

What does legal expenses insurance cover?

Lawyer fees and court costs for disputes such as traffic, employment and consumer matters — according to each policy's terms.

Does legal expenses cover a dispute that has already started?

Usually not. The cover is for future disputes; anything that began before the start date or during the waiting period is normally excluded.
