Fine art & valuables insurance

What can't be replaced is insured by name and value.

Artworks and valuables are insured item by item, at agreed values — and the cover often rests on security conditions that have to be kept. We read your policy and show you the schedule of items, the values and its conditions.

A collection is not one amount — it's a list.

A fine art policy lists each piece separately, at its own value, and ties the cover to conditions about where it is kept. We split it into clean cards — items, values, conditions.

  • Schedule of items & values

See every insured piece with its agreed value and the overall limit — exactly as the policy states them.

  • Security conditions

An alarm linked to a monitoring centre, protected openings: often conditions of cover, not suggestions. We surface them so you know what has to be kept.

  • Optional covers

Earthquake is often offered as optional — and "all risks" does not include it unless it was taken. We show what has been activated and what has not.

  • Where the cover applies

Cover is usually tied to the premises the policy names. See what yours says before a piece travels to an exhibition or a restorer.

What most people ask.

Isn't home contents insurance enough for artworks?

Usually not. Contents policies cap individual valuable items at a low per-item limit, so a painting or piece of jewellery is paid out well below its worth. Fine art insurance declares each item separately, at its own value.

What does "agreed value" mean?

That the payout for each piece is fixed in the policy in advance, instead of being valued at market price at the time of loss. That is why the schedule of items and its values need to stay current.

How does PolicyWallet help with fine art insurance?

You send us the policy and we read the schedule of items, the values, the deductible and the security conditions — like the alarm the policy requires — plus whether optional covers such as earthquake were taken. Free for 3 policies, no card.
